The Entertainment Guide

Carmelite

Part of the boutique Carmelite Hotel, the Carmelite Restaurant is an accomplished eatery situated in the city’s Merchant Quarter. While the restaurant is largely frequented by hotel guests through the day, by evening it becomes a popular spot with couples savouring a quiet spot in which to enjoy some good food and good company. Despite its contemporary decor, the restaurant is full of quirks and character; reserve seats in a rotating ‘waltzer’ booth or choose to dine on a four-poster bed. A ‘wake up till noon’ brunch menu runs through till lunchtime, a shopper’s menu is crammed with hearty sandwiches and nourishing soups, while light dishes are available at the bar. In the afternoon, cocktails are served in vintage teapots alongside traditional sandwiches, cakes and strawberries presented on a tiered cake stand. ‘5 O’Clock-tails’ are on offer from 5-7pm Monday to Friday, with a range of drinks promos providing the best way to shake off those office blues. Mad hatter tea parties, complete with champagne and Alice in Wonderland bunting, are popular with hen parties. In the evenings, the bar and restaurant come to life with live music performed by jazz and blues pianists.

What fantastic night we had on Saturday night. We didn't stop dancing the music was brilliant! As always the food and service was exceptional. If you are looking for something different for your Christmas night out I would highly recommend going along to one of the party nights.
