The West Walls Theatre is a hidden gem in the centre of Carlisle. Owned and managed by the Carlisle Green Room Club, this unassuming theatre is located down a small side street, and you could walk right past if you didn’t know it was there. That would be a real shame though as this theatre is a Carlisle institution, entertaining both locals and visitors for over 65 years now.It offers an annual programme of six different plays, covering a wide range from comedies, thrillers and drama to a child friendly pantomime every Christmas season (oh, no they don’t!). For a small theatre, they don’t scrimp on quality, with some impressive productions and brilliant actors whose antica are sure to engage the whole family. Even better, the tickets are extremely reasonable, the staff are lovely and the bar isn’t overpriced. Check out this gem of a venue for a great night out.

Wow, we have lived in Cumbria all our lives and didn't know about this little boutique theatre in the centre of Carlisle. The play we saw was Handbagged. It was brilliant. The six actors had an incredible amount of lines and were brilliant. Especially the two Margaret Thatcher's who were so in character!
