For an authentic Mediterranean and Neapolitan dining experience, Frizzante more than fits the bill. A family run business, Frizzante has been trading from its home on Lothian Road since 1990. The current owner Jonathon comes from a long line of restaurateurs and leaders in Italian cooking. Jonathon’s great-grandfather or ‘bisnonno’ was head of the Pastai in Gragnano, the heart of pasta-making in Italy. His father ran La Dolce Vita in East Fountainbridge for many years. To this day Frizzante bears the plaque from President Scarfaro in Rome for promoting Italy and Italian cooking around the world. Frizzante carries on the fine family tradition of promoting the best of Italian cuisine to its patrons with a great selection of pastas, risottos and pizzas. Regulars will find that the a la carte menu supplemented by daily and monthly specials helps to keep the menu continually refreshed and renewed.
