Jannettas is a gelateria with history: spanning four generations and over a hundred years of business, this family know how to make great ice cream. The interior seats up to thirty six at bar stools, booths and chairs and tables. It looks just like an Italian gelateria, and is charmingly decorated in pastel Neapolitan colours. If you want something a little more substantial, you can order breakfasts, ciabattas and open sandwiches, washed down with tea, coffee, artisan soda, a float or a thick milkshake. There’s an extensive range of traditional and unusual ice cream flavours such as Scottish tablet and bubblegum, too. Create your own bespoke cone by adding your choice of toppings and sauces for the finishing touch. Or order a sundae or affogato from the menu. If you’re feeling extra hungry, choose the Testa a Testa, with its twelve scoops of ice cream – the ultimate frozen feast.

You CANNOT come to St Andrews without a visit to this gelateria, you would be missing out on the best ice cream ever. We did both sit in and take away, there’s too much to choose from so definitely something for every taste.

We walked in by chance, not knowing anything about the history of Jannettas. Thank goodness we did! The Decor is fresh and inviting and their waffles and ice cream are 'to die for'! The service was very good too! What an amazing gem in the heart of St Andrews!
