Tropical World at Roundhay Park is one of the most well-loved family attractions in Leeds and only three miles from the city centre. At Tropical World you can take a trek through the rainforest; stopping off briefly in the outback of Australia before a quick excursion through the desert, and all in the same morning! It is home to some old friends that include rare birds, crocodiles, butterflies, bats, spiders, snakes and the meerkats - the cutest family in Leeds. It re-opened in March 2015. This follows some stunning renovations that include the aquarium area transformed into a new Amazon themed zone where you can see new residents including piranhas and salamanders.

Visited hear for the 2nd time over three years, It is definitely worth visiting and supporting due to the incredible habitat for its animals for all to visit. It is definitely a day out with family when visiting Tropical World, dose not take long to walk around when taking your time and taking in all its beauty approximately one hour for myself and family. You can then explore the outdoor grounds and then go further to Roundhay Park over the road. Definitely visit and explore with friends/family and children.

We have visited previously with other grandchildren, but this was the first visit with our four year old. Due to current restrictions we booked in advance and were able to enter immediately our hour slot was available. There were not as many butterflys as previous, but this had already been explained to us the reasoning behind it. Nevertheless he was quite excited by everything else 'on display' and we were more than happy that our money was well spent. We will no doubt return in a couple of years time when our youngest grandchild will be old enough to appreciate a visit. Covid restrictions well covered.
