Tolbooth is located in the midst of Stirling’s old town in a beautiful historic building which dates back to the 17th century. Re-opened in 2002 after undergoing restoration and redesign by an award-winning architect, Tolbooth looks even better than ever. It also plays host to local acts and undiscovered talent, so if you’re in a band and looking for somewhere to strut your stuff, your next stop should be Tolbooth. In addition to putting on live music, Tolbooth regularly hosts performance art, exhibitions and art classes. Summer workshops offer classes in everything from weaving to digital photography, with many of them open to children as young as six. Tolbooth itself is imbued with charm, history and warmth – attributes that are all too often lacking from modern live venues. Tolbooth can also be used to host your own events, making it the perfect venue for weddings, parties and galas in Stirling. Great venue, its has lots of things on throughout the year. I just wish they advertised what they had going on better as I am forever finding out about events that I would have liked to have gone to after they have past. The bar and building are worth a walk round and has a great atmosphere durring shows etc.
