Petit Paris is a renowned restaurant on Edinburgh’s famous Grassmarket, serving up a small slice of Parisian cuisine, just as its name would suggest. Besides, the close proximity only adds to Petit Paris’s lively, bustling charm. Slowly braised lamb shanks, rich casseroles and lovingly-prepared terrines take care of the food side of things, accompanied by a finely selected wine list. The staff who run this busy little eatery seem to enjoy their jobs, going out of their way to welcome guests from near and far. Petit Paris brings an authentic taste of the continent to the heart of old Edinburgh.

We went for dinner in February just before the Covid 19 crisis hit. We have been at least twice before and would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant. The only criticism my husband had was that the chairs downstairs are a little uncomfortable but the food is excellent.

Excellent food - simple, classic and one of the best steaks tasted in some time. Friendly service. Relaxed, cosy, slightly rustic environment, I highly recommend this restaurant.
