David Lloyd - Belfast

If the local council gym just doesn’t cut it, perhaps the amenities at David Lloyd will be more to your liking. This upmarket private health club, which boasts outposts throughout the United Kingdom, truly offers a superior workout experience. The devil is in the detail, and nothing has been overlooked where member satisfaction is concerned. However you choose to keep fit, you’ll find the facilities at David Lloyd Belfast first-class. Sharpen up your racquet skills on matchquality tennis, badminton and squash courts, or take a dip in one of two swimming pools, indoor and outdoor. While the latter is only open seasonally, it makes for a blissful swim when the summer sun is blazing. After taking a dip, wash away your worries by stepping into the roomy sauna or steam room, or warm up in the heated whirlpool. Elsewhere, there are meeting rooms, a function suite, physiotherapy treatment rooms, basketball courts, a sports shop and even a creche. The focal point of the club is perhaps the gym, which is large and open-plan, equipped with state-of-the-art cardio equipment and an extensive free weights area. There’s also a spinning bike area and separate aerobic studio. Oh, and the DLicious cafe bar serves up restaurant quality food and coffee. What more could you ask for?

Spacious, well lit, airconditoned changing and sports facilities. Swimming pool and spa especially good (quality dechlorinated water, range of spa facilities). Better yet are range of kids classes (all included in standard family membership, except private tuition for racquet sports or swimming) that cover both creative activities and sports. Most importantly these are timed so that parents can attend their most popular classes.
