Hudson’sAle House is a historic
pub that first opened in 1840
under the name of Hudson’s
Noted Ales & Stouts. In the
2000s the pub changed hands
and became The Tally Ho, its
sign appropriately depicting a
hunting scene. Then, in 2015,
the pub underwent an exciting
renovation and was reopened
by Greene King, reclaiming its
original name from the 1840s,
Hudson’s Ale House. With new
décor and furnishings, the pub
now boasts a more stylish,
up-to-date look. Comfortable
booth seating has been added
with interesting features such
as a bespoke map wall of the
local area and a distinctive
deep blue bar. Quirky, colourful
elements contrast against
raw, industrial design features
creating a cool urban feel, while
original fireplaces remain a
cosy reminder of the pub’s rich
history. As part of the refit and
focus on real ale, an increased
capacity for cask ales has been
added. Guests can choose
from eight real ales including
four rotating ales from a variety
of local microbreweries such
as Calverley’s Brewery, City
of Cambridge Brewery and
Fellows Brewery, as well as
guest beers and well-known
brands from Greene King.
