Wahaca is a popular Mexican
chain that promises a delicious
feast with a fiesta on the side.
The first thing that will strike
you about its Manchester
restaurant is that it’s stunning.
Set across two floors in the
Corn Exchange, this ain’t no
dimly lit cantina: it’s a slick,
contemporary eatery that
serves up award-winning street
food with a flourish. Add in two
cocktails bars and a takeaway
burrito deli, and Wahaca has
pretty much got a monopoly
on Mexican food round these
parts. Don’t expect to hear
anyone complaining though:
they’re too busy demolishing
fat burritos and crispy tacos
with gusto. Wahaca’s unique
take on streed food sees
taquitos filled with pairings
such as Devon crab and shrimp
or cactus and courgette. Never
afraid to take risks with its food,
Wahaca’s culinary team also
do a mean scallop and shrimp
ceviche and refreshing summer
pea and mint empanadas. For
those who prefer something
more substantial, Wahaca’s
grill dispenses British steak
cooked Mexican style and a
soft and succulent cod fillet
with guajillo and parsley pesto
salsa. Mexican food just got
even better.
