Diners sitting down to a meal
at James Martin Manchester
can expect attentive service,
stylish decor and cuisine that’s
never less than imaginative. The
signature restaurant at the city’s
Manchester235 Casino, it occupies
a space well removed from the
glamorous gaming floor. The
spectacular 170-seat restaurant is
a sight to behold in its own right,
with original brick vaulting that
harks back to the building’s former
status as a railway warehouse.
The modern fixtures and fittings,
meanwhile, provide a welcome
contrast; the vintage-style chairs
are a particularly nice touch. Of
course, a restaurant is only as
good as the food it serves – and
Britain’s much-loved celebrity chef
has left no stone unturned in his
attempt to woo the city’s foodies.
All dishes are crafted using only
the finest seasonal and locally-
sourced ingredients, with a range
of James Martin favourites taking
pride of place on the menu.
Enjoy tender smoked Goosnargh
duck with whipped liver parfait,
or tuck into the ink-poached cod
with charred squid and Carelian
caviar. An extensive list of old and
new world wines allows diners to
complement their dishes perfectly.
Interestingly, the restaurant hosts
its own Meat Market, a unique
walk-in fridge stocked with various
cuts of meat that are featured on
the menu.
