It wouldn’t be a push to place
Molly’s Yard among the finest
dining
establishments
in
Belfast. This charming two-
storey restaurant is housed in
the converted Victorian stables
and courtyard of College Green
House, right in the heart of the
bustling Cathedral Quarter, and
serves an array of modern Irish
dishes. A strong focus is placed
on plates that utilise seasonal
and locally-sourced produce,
but Molly’s is about more than
just bloody good food. Diners
flock here for the ambience, the
comfy cushioned banquettes,
the first-class service and,
yes, for the excellent draught
beers on tap. The restaurant is,
after all, the only place in town
where you can sup a Headless
Dog, Molly’s Chocolate Stout
or Belfast Blonde, each of the
beverages produced down
the road at Ireland’s oldest
independent
brewery.
In
addition to serving good food
and great beer, Molly’s often
hosts gin and rum tasting nights
– an excellent way to enjoy
a tipple while soaking up the
atmosphere. At this point you
could be forgiven for thinking
Molly’s fine dining must come
with a commensurate price
tag. Surprisingly, there isn’t:
this bustling brasserie offers
excellent value for money.
