Known for being Belfast’s
busiest shopping hub, Victoria
Square is a four-storey retail
space packed with over 50
high street outlets and an
Odeon cinema. Anchored on
the ground floor by a large
House of Fraser department
store, the ultra-modern domed
shopping centre is the perfect
place in which to while away
an afternoon. When you
eventually tire of browsing the
shops, meanwhile, daily tours
give you the chance to visit
the glass dome itself, which
imparts panoramic views of
the city; from here, you can
behold Belfast Castle, the City
Hall, the Courts of Justice and
the Harland & Wolff Cranes.
The tours run every day, on the
hour, from 10am until 4pm. In
all likelihood, of course, you’ll
be visiting Victoria Square
primarily to hit the shops. If
that’s the case, the hours can
certainly breeze by quickly.
From Apple to Hugo Boss and
Calvin Klein and Dune to H&M,
House of Fraser and River
Island, visitors are spoiled
for choice. The centre is also
packed with eateries: not only
is there a Frankie & Benny’s,
but McDonald’s, Nando’s
and the city’s only Yo! Sushi.
