YO SUSHI
Yo! Sushi isn’t exactly a new
phenomena on British shores.
After all, the chain launched
its first restaurant in London
in 1997. It has, however,
only recently opened shop in
Northern Ireland, debuting in
Victoria Square in late 2014.
Famous for the sheer variety
of its dishes – there are
over 80 hot and cold options
to choose from, including
soups, rices, noodles, bite-
sized sushi rolls, salads and
tempuras – Belfast’s diners
seem to be enjoying the iconic
‘kaiten’ conveyor belt already.
Located on the ground floor
of the popular Victoria Square
shopping centre, the bright and
cheerful 74-seater restaurant
does a roaring trade every day
of the week, with seats at a
premium come the weekend.
Give yourself a break from
all that shopping, slip into a
moulded plastic chair and
watch as bowl after bowl of
wonderfully moreish sushi zips
past. The chicken katsu curry,
and selection of exotic salads,
are also excellent. If you’re a
Yo! Sushi newbie, be aware
that the dishes are colour
coded according to price. Get
to grips with that little quirk and
you’ll be piling up the bowls in
no time.
