BRIGHTON
PALACE PIER
Much like any major seaside
town, Brighton is largely
built around its beloved pier.
Surrounded by a panoply
of high quality food and
drink outlets, the traditional
Victorian pier is a wonderful
site to visit during your time by
the water. Take the little ones
to the fairground attractions
(all day wristbands are £22.50
but you save up to 25% by
booking online), where they
can spin on the Cup and
Saucers, ascend the Mega
Slides or ride on the thrilling
Turbo Coaster. When hunger
calls, why not try a crackling
slab of fish in the famous Palm
Court Restaurant, which has
just undergone a multi-million
pound refurbishment. There’s
no shortage of eateries,
whether you feel like Chinese
noodles or sweet churros. If
you prefer to snack on the
go, but still wish to sample
some fresh seafood, you can
pick up a bag of tasty whelks
from the Shell Fish kiosk. Of
course, if the sun’s shining
you’d best stay hydrated – and
the pier’s two bars, Victoria’s
and Horatio’s, will take care of
your thirst. It also goes without
saying that no trip to Brighton
is complete without buying a
stick of rock as a souvenir.
