CAFES, BARS & CLUBS
Patterns is one of Brighton’s
newest nightspots. Previously
known as the Audio and
Escape Club, where the likes
of Stone Roses and Daft Punk
played gigs, the revamped
venue opened under its
current guise in May 2015.
Having been extensively
redesigned and kitted out
with a new sound system,
the two-storey club is sure to
become a staple of Brighton’s
teeming nightlife. Now under
the curation of Mothership
Group – the creative team
behind many of London’s best
bars – Patterns aims to forge a
reputation all of its own. Since
opening, many of the country’s
best DJs have brought the
house down, with Dave Clark,
Anthony Parasole and Gilles
Peterson taking up residence
behind the hand-built booth.
Friday and Saturday nights
see the bar and club merge,
the walls reverberating with
house, techno and electronic
beats. If you rock up before
the music begins, why not
grab some food to go with
your drink? The menu is
small but accomplished, with
the grilled Aberdeen angus
burger a particular highlight.
Patterns’ drinks menu offers
more choice, with a selection
of beers from Spain, Ireland,
America,
Holland
and
Czechoslovakia.
