Eden Rock offers a dedicated bouldering centre
with a massive range of circuits to suit climbers
of all levels and abilities. Bouldering is a fun and
exciting sport for the whole family to get involved
in and Eden Rock is certainly proving popular with
the Carlisle locals - as well as attracting some
climbing enthusiasts from far and wide. With
the centre conveniently located close to the city
centre, and with on-site parking available, it’s
easy to get to and the friendly staff will provide
a warm welcome. For newbies to the bouldering
game, there’s Eden Rock’s specialist introductory
course. The professional on-site team will show
you all the different areas, teach you the grading
systems and help you to get started climbing.
By the end, nervous beginners will be feeling
confident and knowledgeable about the basics.
The team will even throw in a free cuppa upon
completion of the session. More experienced
climbers can choose to either jump right into
Eden Rock’s huge variety of bouldering walls and
problem courses, or refresh their skills with one of
the comprehensive one-to-one or group sessions.
For the kids, there are group clubs for all age
groups plus taster sessions. Bouldering is a great
activity for children, helping to improve physical
strength as well as building confidence, problem-
solving and communication skills as they work
together to solve those trickier climbs. It’s a great
way to get them away from the TV or computer
and increase their fitness, but in a fun and relaxed
way. Plus, every Monday night is ladies night at
Eden Rock. A great mix of all ages and abilities,
this has grown into a hugely popular weekly event.
It offers a chance for ladies to climb, chat and
make new friends. Eden Rock really does offer
something for everyone, including great coffee
and pizza! What more do you need?
