Indian food isn’t generally synonymous with
seafood, but Maisha is on a mission to change all
that. The St Andrews restaurant combines the finest
locally landed seafood with culinary nous that’s
been imported all the way from India. Maisha’s
proprietors are keen to demonstrate that Indian
food can also be healthy, a point that’s proven when
it comes to its fish dishes that are low in fat but rich
in flavour. Marinated fish has long been a part of
Bengali cuisine and it’s a tradition that’s maintained
at Maisha, where white fish such as tilapia is
cooked to perfection. While Indian in name, Maisha
isn’t afraid to draw its influences from closer to
home. Bangladeshi, Thai and Scottish dishes have
all been given the Maisha treatment to great effect.
