TheWick at Both Ends
The Wick at Both Ends was established in 2010 and
has since won the hearts of many, gaining a reputation
as one of the most dynamic bars in the city. The bar
and diner offers a great alternative to the standard
West Street establishments. The Wick truly begins
to burn from 5pm onwards, with a wide spectrum of
cleverly crafted drinks. Lose yourself in the extensive
cocktail list and indulge in the international craft beer
menu selected by the enthusiastic and outgoing bar
staff. The Wick has a constantly changing bar-friendly
food menu where you will always find something
perfect to wash down the drink and stop your stomach
from rumbling. Everything slots into place at 9pm as
the resident DJs fill the venue with music that will
carry you through until the early hours. The Wick’s
prime purpose is to offer an element of escapism to
anyone who wants it, seven days a week. The bar can
cater for parties of many different sizes, from tables
for two to parties of 30 or more. Whilst cocktails are
the speciality, the food menu will surprise many with
its quality and scrummyness. Inspired by modern
British cuisine, and with all ingredients sourced within
a 35 mile radius of Sheffield, The Wick’s talented
chefs have created a menu that is sure to delight.
A seasonal menu features a mix of fantastic mains,
starters, burgers, delicious sarnies and lovingly
crafted desserts. Alongside ‘Proper Burgers’ and
classic mains, the Wick & Mix menu is stacked with
mouth-watering light bites. This is food that is made
for sharing. Dishes include smoked duck with poached
pear and horseradish cream; serrano wraps encasing
sun-blush tomatoes, brie and homemade pesto; squid
and spicy tomato stew; and mushrooms stuffed with
blue cheese and walnut fondue and cooked in garlic
butter. It’s a menu of imagination and conscientious
industry. The Wick cares about its food, and it shows.
Best of all, the menu may be sophisticated, but the
price isn’t.
