Despite being within Sheffield’s border, The Strines

Inn could be a world away. Nestled amongst

breathtaking moorland scenery, it is one of many local

landmarks within the Peak District National Park. The

13th century inn boasts traditional real ales, home-

cooked food and the welcoming presence of real open

fires. It’s dog friendly, children friendly and forms an

ideal walker’s resting place. The inn offers something

a little different to your typical country pub. Each room

contains many articles and artefacts concerning the

bygone days of the Strines and its surrounding areas,

including many other pieces of interest. In the height

of summer, the inn attracts hundreds of visitors on a

daily basis. The glorious sunshine and stunning views

perfectly complement the excellent food and drink

available. For those with children, there is an enclosed

play area outside where youngsters are free to run

          around to their heart’s content.

there are a growing number of people who share their

love for people, food and coffee. The cafe forms a

relaxing spot in which to gather, eat, drink and enjoy

the moment. Marmadukes gather locally sourced

produce and wherever possible make everything

from scratch, in-house. Traditional long fermented

breads are handmade and delivered daily by the

Welbeck Bakehouse. Seasonal salads blend great

British produce with interesting flavours from around

the world, complemented with outstanding baked

goods, created in-house, all day, every day. The cafe’s

sincere love of coffee is reflected in how they source

and make it. House beans are roasted by Workshop

Coffee, who have become one of Europe’s most well

established quality-focused roasters. For lovers of a

well-brewed filter, Marmadukes supply coffees from

select roasters and brewed using the Kalita Wave or
