Gower Golf Club offers a
whole host of attractions for
golfers and nongolfers alike.
The facilities include an 18-
hole golf course set on rolling
countryside, practice and tuition
facilities, covered practice bays,
a wedding suite with civil licence,
overnight
accommodation
and the Beacons restaurant.
The course was designed by
the highly respected Donald
Steel who has planned eight
European Tour courses and is
Consultant Course Architect
to the R&A at St Andrews,
and has been overlaid onto
verdant countryside to create a
spectacular challenge utilising
every available feature. The
rolling countryside has been
transformed into an exciting
golfing challenge where the
contours, trees and water
have been sympathetically
harnessed to create a natural
18-hole par 71 course at 6,441
yds. The greens have been
shaped and constructed to
USGA specification to create
free-draining surfaces able to
withstand heavy use. The club
is prized for its great hospitality,
which extends to anyone looking
for golf breaks in Wales or
visiting the Beacons restaurant,
where a seasonal menu is full of
appetising options.
