PIRATE PETE’S
Pirate Pete’s is located in and
around The Pavilion of Ayr.
Originally designed by J. K.
Hunter in 1911, it was intended
as an entertainments hall for
the Ayrshire community. The
four corner minarets always
contributed an element of
seaside fantasy, and it is
fitting that today this B-listed
building has been converted
into an activity centre for
children. There is plenty to see
and do, whatever the Ayrshire
weather gets up to, including
fun in Scotland’s biggest
indoor play area and first mini-
championship putting course.
The play area’s four decks
are made up of slopes and
slides, climbs and tubes, and
an abundance of well-stocked
ball lagoons. Have fun on
the soft bouncers, aerial
runways and even the spiral
slide: spin all the way from
top to bottom before walking
the plank. Pirate Pete’s is
an ideal place for children’s
parties; the staff can even
convert two rooms into one
to cater for up to 80 children
at one time. Individually
themed party rooms will
make your child’s party
go with a swing, and on-
site catering facilities mean
the little ones will be fueled for
the day.
