THE SHIP INN
Situated in Elie on the
Fife coast, The Ship Inn
commands spectacular views
across the Firth of Forth. Its
setting may be impressive
but that’s not the main
reason why so many visitors
flock here. The Inn is more
famous for its hearty portions
of home-cooked food that
have helped make it a firm
favourite with walkers, golfers
and families passing through
the picturesque town of Elie
and Earlsferry. The pub menu
is based around traditional
British fare, made using
locally-sourced ingredients
where possible. Generous
portions of Thai curry, steak
pie and battered haddock are
as tasty as they are filling.
After lunch or dinner, why not
retreat to the cosy bar, with its
timber ceiling and open fire,
for a relaxing drink? The bar
is cheerily decorated with a
maritime theme, including a
selection of old photographs
of Elie. On the first floor, a
balcony area overlooks the
sandy bay. During the day,
the adjoining coffee shop fills
up with customers stopping
to enjoy a fresh brew and
take in the coastal panorama.
Throughout the year, The
Ship Inn holds various
culinary events that combine
specially selected wine with
fine seafood.
