La Ciociara
La Ciociara is an Italian restaurant located in
the heart of historic Stirling, a favourite with
students and wallet-conscious foodies alike. The
restaurant offers tasty dishes that are freshly
prepared, with the menu boasting all the Italian
classics from pizza and pasta to lobster ravioli
and a few non-Italian dishes thrown in for good
measure. Service here is wonderful; the staff
really do go that extra mile to make you feel
comfortable, whether it’s by keeping your water
topped up or listing the ingredients in the dish of
the day, you won’t feel pressured or patronised.
Décor inside the restaurant is simple, but light and
pleasant, making La Ciociara a wonderful venue
for a midday lunch or a light dinner on a summer’s
evening. If you enjoy eating out but can’t afford to
do so as often as you would like, you’re bound to
become a regular at La Ciociara.

Italia Nostra – which translates as ‘Our Italy’ – is
Stirling’s premier Italian restaurant, and a source of
authentic Mediterranean cooking. You don’t need
to travel to Rome or Venice to enjoy real Italian
pizzas when you can find them on your doorstep
at Italia Nostra. The menu offers a range of hearty
dishes, from pizzas and pastas to main courses
based around meat, fish and vegetables. The veal
and beef steaks come highly recommended; daily
specials are also available. Portions are generous,
and are cooked using locally-sourced ingredients
where possible. There’s also a tempting dessert
menu, which offers everything from ice cream to
tiramisu. Staff are lovely, with service that’s friendly
without feeling overly-attentive. The interior décor
is warm; simple pastel colours complementing the
clean white tablecloths. An evening in Italia Nostra
is certainly a night to remember, with excellent
food served up in a cosy atmosphere.
