The Old
Bank Bar
The Old Bank Bar is one of the most vibrant
pubs in Dundee, and you’ll be sure to find a
warm and friendly welcome. Although the
regulars have been going there for years,
The Old Bank Bar attracts a steady stream of
new customers who’ve been lucky enough to
learn of its existence. The interior is spacious
yet intimate, with plush curtains and wrought-
iron chandeliers. The wooden floor is host to
an eighties night once a month, and there’s
always some form of entertainment round the
corner. You can grab a hearty meal any day
of the week - perhaps a firm favourite such as
homemade steak pie - and a pint renowned
as being one of the most reasonably-priced in
Tayside. Whether it’s a cosy chat you’re after
or a venue to view the footie, The Old Bank
Bar is worth a look.
VENGA
31 SOUTH WARD ROAD
DUNDEE, DD1 1PU
01382 228181
The ultimate 90s nightclub, Venga can stake
a claim to being the best nightspot of its kind in
Dundee and has become a firm favourite with
locals, especially the city’s student population.
The VIP area, fitted with luxury booths, can be
rented out for special events, while private pods
for hire include an exclusive bar where you can
party hard with your best mates. Lap up all the
greatest 90s hits in the Venga room, or jump
through to Club Tropicana to take things back
another decade. In Venga, though, it’s always
the 1990s and the anthems are always dropping.
From Britpop to trance and grunge to girl power,
the decade spawned more than its share of hits
and genres. Today, those bangers sound every bit
as essential; take a look around and you could be
forgiven for thinking you’d time-hopped right back
to the 90s, when the phones were chunky and the
riffs were mighty.
