Cambustay is part of the
Milton Pub and Tavern group,
with the building itself dating
back to the 1850s. At this time
Dundee was well known for
trading jute, brought on ships
from India. The trade made it a
prosperous city, full of affluent
taverns like this one catering
to the rich jute barons. The
Cambustay is now a rustic
country styled pub, but retains
its rich history and period
features. It’s set in rural and
picturesque
surroundings
just a short drive from the
city’s centre. Here you can
enjoy hearty pub food from
seasonal and set menus, light
bites, bar snacks, sharing
platters, decadent desserts,
stonebaked pizzas, great
cask ales and quality wines.
Sunday lunch is a highlight,
but the bar is open from 11am
till 11pm daily. Relax by a
crackling open fire on comfy
seats underneath impressive
historic beamed ceilings,
as you catch up over drinks
with friends and family. The
Cambustay is located near
the water’s edge in delightful
Broughty Ferry and is a
charming public house, well
worth seeking out.
