Sci-fi buffs will be in shoot-em-up heaven at
Glasgow’s Laser Quest. The facility forms a
smoke-filled lair where friends can get trigger-
happy on one another, in between scoping signs of
alien life. Players aged eight and over are invited to
the Portman Street facility to celebrate birthdays,
work events and everything else in between. It’s
all a bit of fun, but that doesn’t mean you won’t
be trying your damnedest to walk away with the
bragging rights. The centre offers a range of party
packages to suit everything from children’s events
to team-building exercises. In addition to pointing
and shooting, the activity centre hosts Clue HQ,
a live escape game in which contestants have
just 60 minutes in which to solve the puzzles and
make their way out of the locked room. Whatever
it takes to reach Laser Quest, which lies close
to Kinning Park subway station, find an excuse,
round up a crew and run wild.

Scottish largest exhibition centre was previously
known at the SECC and can be found on the banks
of the River Clyde. The campus comprises five
connected spaces that play host to high-profile,
large-scale events and conferences. The iconic
landmark of the Armadillo features a programme
of major touring theatre productions, music and
talks from international stars. The SSE Hydro is
the largest auditorium of the five, seating 13000
and providing a stage for famous bands’ Scottish
appearances. World renowned architects were
involved with the design of several sections, which
offers both impressive aesthetics and immense
capacity. Each part of the campus has its own
food and drink areas, with the main restaurant,
the Clydebuilt Bar and Kitchen, located at the east
entrance. Ample multi-storey parking is offered for a
fee, there’s a drop off/pick up zone with accessible
transfers and multiple public transport stops nearby.
