THE HORSE SHOE BAR
0141 248 6368
17-19 Drury Street,
Glasgow, G2 5AE
The Horse Shoe Bar is a grand pub that looks
the business but doesn’t cost the earth. Pop in
to the Drury Street boozer and you’re guaranteed
a warm welcome and a cold glass of whatever
you’re having, be it a peat-coloured ale, claret
glass of shiraz or a golden tumbler of malt whisky.
The Horseshoe warrants a visit to see the bar
itself which, at 104 feet, can lay claim to being the
longest in Europe. The pub grub, as befits such a
venerable establishment, is traditional, but mighty
fine. A selection of burgers, 21-day aged prime
steaks and crunchy taco salads hit the spot, while
a kids’ menu ensures that no one’s left out. Food
is served till 10pm, while drinks, ranging from Innis
& Gunn and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale craft beers
to cocktails, are available till the bell rings for last
orders. Stop by for a quiet drink or to catch the big
match over a not-so-quiet pint or two and see for
yourself why The Horseshoe Bar is so special to
so many.
THE GARAGE
490 Sauchiehall Street,
Glasgow, G2 3LW
0141 332 1120
Open seven nights a week and right at the
heart of the city centre action in Sauchiehall
Street lies The Garage. It’s hard to miss - the
frontage is a bright yellow American haulage
truck emerging from just above the entrance,
pointing the way for revellers thanks to the
logo emblazoned on its tyre. It makes for a fun
start to a rocking night, and with a programme
of live music, DJ sets and operating as a
large and small scale party venue, there’s no
shortage of things going on in the club that
first opened its doors back in 1994. Dance
the night away into the wee small hours in the
basement, attic or main hall and enjoy great
value drinks at one of the bars. Over the years
The Garage has become famed as somewhat
of a Glaswegian nightlife institution and a trip
here is a rite of passage.
