As its name suggests, Ace
Adventure
specialise
in
adrenaline-based activities, the
kind of daring pursuits that make
thrill-seekers tick. With locations
spread throughout the country,
from Glasgow to Grandtully, the
company are responsible for
many a quickened pulse. The
nearest centre to Inverness can
be found in Achnagairn, on the
banks of the River Findhorn.
However you get your kicks,
there’s almost certainly an
exploit to float your boat at this
purpose-built outdoor activity
hub. Among the adventures on
offer are white-water rafting,
cliff-jumping, kayaking and
canyoning. If even the thought
of freezing cold water brings you
out in goose-pimples, you can
elect to stay dry and have a go
at disc golf or paintballing. Some
say the River Findhorn offers
the best rafting experience in
Scotland though, so do bear
that in mind when making your
decision. The great thing is, the
activity is offered year round,
making it the only Grade 3
rafting experience in Scotland
to do so. When you’ve ran the
rapids, get back to the heated
changing rooms to cast off your
wetsuit. A light lunch is included
with your trip, and the kiosk is
stocked with hot and cold drinks
