and Geddes, in the shade of
the Geddes Dams, lies this
fantastic trout and coarse
fishery. If your concept of
a halcyon afternoon is one
spent on the banks of a quiet
loch, patiently waiting for the
fish to bite, you owe yourself
a trip to Geddes. Comprising
three separate lochs – one for
bait, one for fly and the other
for coarse fishing – the site
guarantees a plentiful supply
of fish – blues, brownies and
the ever-tenacious rainbow
– and sells a wide selection
of flies from the shop on the
bank. There are also rods for
hire, should you require them.
Open throughout the year,
weather permitting, the fishery
is particularly popular with fly
fishermen. While the bait loch
is catch-and-keep only, the fly
loch gives anglers the choice
of catch-and-release or keep.
Whatever your inclination,
you’re sure to appreciate the
option of ducking into the
heated cabin for a cup of tea
or coffee or even a light snack.
