CAFES, BARS & CLUBS
109 Oldham Street
Manchester, M4 1LW

Gullivers is a lively little bar and venue that’s
tucked away on Oldham Street. There’s a lot of
history locked inside this characterful pub which
dates back to the 19th century. The bar’s enjoyed
a colourful past, before morphing into the live
venue it is today, a stalwart of the city’s music
scene and a cherished outpost in the Northern
Quarter. You’ll find all your favourite tunes on the
bar’s eclectic jukebox, while upstairs you’ll find
your favourite new bands just waiting to woo you
in the live venue. Prog, punk, indie, psychedelic,
rock...all the genres for all the people. Gullivers
champions the latest up-and-coming bands;
tomorrow’s stars and today’s upstarts. Backroom
Sessions see Run & Hide Records introduce
promising new artists, while other labels prone to
hosting events here include Black Hand Records
and Scruff Off The Neck Records. Love music?
You’ll love Gullivers.
THE TERRACE NQ
43 Thomas Street
Norther Quarter
Manchester, M4 1NA

You’d expect a bar named after a terrace to be
well-suited to al fresco drinking and you’d be quite
correct. Part bar, part nightclub, Terrace NQ is
cheery on the inside, sun-kissed and idyllic on the
outside. In the summer months, there’s no better
place to be than kicking back on the terrace with
a glass of wine. Open till late every night of the
week, Terrace NQ does the little things well and
the big things with aplomb. The wine? Excellent.
The beats? Fresh. The vibe? That all depends on
when you rock up. During the week, the terrace
is the place to nurse a few post-work drinks while
you catch up on gossip. On weekends, the volume
creeps up as DJs lay down a thumping soundtrack
and every last inch of the terrace is put to good
use. If you’re passing through the Northern
Quarter, Terrace NQ comes highly recommended.
