When The Dockyard pub
opened in April 2015, its owner
wanted it to ‘form the backbone’
of the upcoming Leftbank
neighbourhood in Spinningfields.
Suffice to say it has done its job,
as The Dockyard has swiftly gone
from being one of the city’s most
anticipated new bars to being one
of its most cherished. With stone
floors, modern light fixtures and
characterful wood-panelled walls,
the well-groomed boozer is the
perfect space to unwind. Because
of the large paned windows, it
benefits from an abundance of
natural light – a dark and dingy
watering hole this is not. The
bar offers a large selection of
pale ales, lagers and local craft
beers, including Salford’s Seven
Brothers and First Chop, as well
as offerings from the Brightside
and Shindigger labels. A diverse
menu of freshly-prepared food is
also available, making Dockyard
Spinningfields well worth the
five-minute walk from Deansgate.
Aside from the aforementioned
drinks, incidentally, you can order
wine by the carafe or choose from
an extensive range of premium
spirits and ciders. As well as the
chic, industrial-style space inside,
The Dockyard boasts a sought-
after outdoor seating area. From
this vantage, you can enjoy
the added bonus of a view over
the river. Pop in for lunch, dinner
or a relaxing night-out; whatever
the occasion, The Dockyard
always delivers.
