Kawiarnia Coffee House
Kawiarnia is a lovely little cafe situated in the
heart of the city of Ayr. It’s just a short walk from
the river and one of the main shopping centres,
and offers a lovely spot to while away an hour or
two - or recover after a busy shopping session.
There’s even outdoor seating for when the
Scottish weather decides to behave itself. The
menu offers a great selection of meals and snacks
including some fab Polish specialities such as
goulash and Polish-style dumplings. There’s
also a yummy range of homemade cakes, served
buried in cream. Also check out the fresh waffles,
which come in standard or bubble varieties and
with a lovely range of topping available. The staff
are friendly and helpful and are obviously dog
lovers, as the cafe is very dog-friendly with your
furry friend being guaranteed a warm welcome
with water bowls and doggie treats.

Poets-Corner-Alloway/
Poets Corner is a lovely, friendly tearoom within
a traditional cottage complete with timber beams
and sloping roofs. Set in gorgeous Ayrshire
countryside, right across from the Robert Burns
cottage, this is a perfect spot to take in the
scenery, reflect on some Scottish writing, and,
of course, enjoy some yummy food. The friendly
staff are happy to welcome you into this cosy
little cafe and there’s a great range of lunchtime
snacks, light bites and teas and coffees. They
have a famous traditional Scottish breakfast
(Rabbie Burns would no doubt approve!) plus
lovely seasonal soups, perfect if the Scottish
weather isn’t being kind. There’s plenty of veggie
and gluten-free options, so something to suit
everyone, while the highlight has got to be the
selection of homemade cakes. Your waistline
may not thank you for it, but your taste buds
certainly will.
