Located on Dundee’s beautiful waterfront,
Bridgeview Station is housed within the iconic
Victorian railway station, offering panoramic views
of the Tay estuary. A family-run business opened
in 2009 by the Elders, it’s a gastrocafe like no
other in Tayside. The restaurant was nominated
for two architectural awards, as its original design
was based on the old Magdalen Green railway
station, though the food is equally magnificent.
Freshly prepared and locally sourced, dishes
are complemented perfectly by spectacular
surroundings. Tuck into Scottish whiting, breaded
in oatmeal and matched with smoked mussels,
or sample a unique haggis scotch egg. Indulge in
maple and ginger glazed pork belly, or a sinfully
delicious Bridgeview burger: with Mull cheddar,
onion rings and charred gem lettuce, it comes
complete with homemade chips, of course. Finish it
off perfectly with a passion fruit and vanilla posset.

Located just a short trip outside of Dundee, the
Riverside Inn is perfect for family meals out.
Regardless of the weather the kids can enjoy a
play area outside or indoor play barn will keep
them equally entertained. It’s not all about the kids
though, as the food and drinks available will show!
The portions on offer are unashamedly large,
and the presentation will raise an eyebrow to say
the least: just order the Sharing Sundae or All
Day Mixed Grill. For those with less gargantuan
appetites there are alternatives to suit: enjoy
breaded mushrooms and garlic mayonnaise,
followed by the extremely popular Balmoral
chicken. If you like the sound of a chicken breast
layered with sweet cured bacon and haggis,
drenched in a sumptuous whisky cream sauce,
then it’s definitely the dish for you. To finish the
meal enjoy a coffee or dessert, such as New York
cheesecake or lemon tart with red berry coulis.
