Dundee Airport is the gateway
to the City of Discovery. Only
20 minutes away from St
Andrews, it’s the perfect place
to touch down for a week of
golf. Both CityJet and Flybe
offer
regular
scheduled
passenger flights, flying to
destinations such as London,
Belfast and Birmingham. You
can even fly to Jersey in the
summer months with Ramsay
World Travel. The airport
offers so much more than
simply flights though, as the
reputation of the local flying
school reflects. As one of
the best in the area, it offers
both private and commercial
pilot license training, run by
Tayside Aviation. A 30-minute
trial lesson will only set you
back £95, making it a fantastic
present if there’s a budding
pilot in your life. You can also
book a 60-minute flight for
two, making for a uniquely
romantic experience. You can
also arrange a helicopter tour
for a special occasion, and
take in the stunning scenery
of the surrounding area. For
those who’ve already picked
up their qualifications, the
airport offers night flying
lessons and reasonable
hourly hire rates.
