Porters Bar and Restaurant can be found at
City Quay and provides a variety of eating and
drinking options. Dine on everything from salt-
aged steaks and fine fresh seafood to hearty
Italian cuisine. Or of you prefer a lighter bite, or
something to accompany drinks with friends,
peruse the range of Mediterranean and Scottish
small plates, perfect for sharing. The produce is
locally sourced, as are many of the spirits, ales
and beers, and the venue boasts an enormous
selection of artisan gins. Sip on a beautifully
presented cocktail in the funky bar area, enjoy
live acoustic performances with a dram or two, or
enjoy a romantic and intimate date tucked away
at a booth table. There’s a programme of regular
events too, including gin tasting sessions, steak
nights, pizza nights, Sunday roasts, Christmas
party nights and afternoon teas.

It’s always worth knowing where to go for great
ice cream when enjoying a day by the seaside.
When in St Andrews, pay the Italian cafe Nardini’s
a visit, for snacks, indulgent iced treats, coffees
and larger lunches too. The vibrant ice cream
parlour is a stone’s throw from the Byre Theatre,
with sports decor and furnishing reminiscent of
the 1920s. It’s a simple and sophisticated Art
Deco style that exudes retro glamour, as well
as being relaxed and casual. It is the gelaterie
that’s the star of the show here, with sumptuous
creations served in traditional ice cream glasses,
as well as jam jar styled mugs. Cream, sauces
and embellishments are piled high, making these
ice creams and milkshakes look almost too good
to eat. Kids and families will especially enjoy the
convenience and refreshments that Nardini’s has
to offer those of all ages.
