The Scottish Parliament building, which opened in

2004, is an architectural wonder that dominates

the Holyrood area. The iconic building, situated at

          leaf-shaped annexes and a grass-roofed branch

that merges into nearby parkland. The building

is open to visitors on every day of the week

except Sunday and free tours of the Parliament

Once upon a time, the Royal Yacht Britannia sailed

the high seas, conveying Her Majesty to official

          engagements throughout the Commonwealth in

style. The boat’s seafaring days may now be over,

but it hasn’t lost any of its splendour since assuming

a permanent berth along the Shore of Leith.
