GALLERY
Located in the historic royal
residence of Holyrood Palace
is The Queen’s Gallery,
opened in 2002 by Queen
Elizabeth herself. Here you
can view changing exhibitions
from the impressive Royal
Collection, seven days a
week. Catch a glimpse into the
lives of monarchs throughout
our history, by viewing the
old master paintings, rare
furniture,
decorative
art
and items from the vast
photography collection. Free
multimedia tours are provided
at the fully accessible site.
There are frequent events to
attend here with talks, lectures,
courses
and
workshops
happening throughout the
year - many of which are
designed for nursery, primary-
and secondary-aged children
and students. You can book a
private tour or viewing for that
extra-special experience of the
gallery too. Enjoy a bite to eat,
or afternoon tea with bubbles,
after your visit in the delightful
Cafe at the Palace. Then
pick up some souvenirs and
contribute to the care of the
Royal Collection at the gallery
boutique. Here you can shop
for homewares, jewellery,
china, clothing, children’s toys,
books and cards.
