The Slug and Lettuce is a well known and well
regarded bar and restaurant chain, one that
combines fresh, affordable food with a good
range of beers, wines and spirits. Established
in 1985, the British pub chain has two
premises in Edinburgh, one on George Street
and the other in the Omni Centre at the top of
Leith Walk. For those big nights on the town,
the Slug and Lettuce is also a prime staging
post, one that will enable you to get the rounds
in and still be left with change to play with. The
food menu at the Slug is packed with simple
yet tasty dishes, the sort that are familiar yet
still a welcome sight. Don’t be surprised if you
get plate envy after seeing what your fellow
diners are tucking into: there’s a lot to love
and linger over on the Slug’s perfectly formed
lunch and dinner menus.
