No trip to Glasgow would be complete without
a visit to the Grosvenor. Nestled in cosy
cobbled Ashton Lane, just off well-heeled
Byers Road, the Grosvenor combines a cafe,
bar and cinema. Indeed, it’s the only picture
house in the West End of the city – and it’s
as far from a soulless cineplex as you can
get. A range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic
beverages are on sale and there’s an array of
snacks available from the foyer, including the
usual suspects like chocolate, popcorn and,
er, candy floss. If you want to grab something
to eat before (or after) the film of course, you
can. Menus feature classic and contemporary
dishes and kids eat for half price. Oftentimes
there’s deals to snag on the Grosvenor
website, such as Dinner, Wine & a Movie, so
it’s worth having a peek before you mosey on
down to catch the latest flick.

Waverley Excursions
The PS Waverley is the last seagoing passenger-
carrying paddle steamer in the world, and with
Waverley Excursions you can enjoy a day out
exploring the Scottish coastline. As well as enjoying
the craftsmanship and engineering of the vessel itself,
passengers on the Waverley can explore the Lochs
and Islands of Arran, Bute and Cumbrae, and see
various seaside locations around the Scottish coast.
On board there are also plenty of things to keep
guests busy – the Art Deco style restaurant serves
delicious contemporary dishes prepared freshly on-
board, and the ship also offers two bars, a lounge and
a tea room; so whether you’re after a cold beer, a hot
coffee, or a sweet scone, you’ll find something to whet
your appetite on board the PS Waverley. There’s also
a souvenir shop onboard, and visitors can feel free to
visit the engine room and watch the steam engines
at work. You don’t have to be a marine enthusiast to
appreciate Waverley Excursions as you voyage on an
unforgettable excursion around Scotland.
