Catching a show at the Pavilion
Theatre is the recipe for a good
night. The Pavilion – a firm
favourite with Glasgow families
– hosts a diverse programme
that includes pantomime, plays,
stand-up comedy and music.
There’s usually something to be
found every night of the week,
with The Pavilion shedding a

tribute acts to classic stars of
the 50s and 60s. The building
recently enjoyed an extensive
refurbishment
programme
which restored its original
features to their former glory;

chandeliers,
murals,
red
carpeting and stalls hark back
to the glory days of theatre,
when sold-out shows and
raucous entertainment were
the norm. Today, not much
has changed: the historic
building is enjoying something
of a renaissance, with tickets
for major productions very
much in demand. Entering the
auditorium is like stepping back
in time to a music hall at the
turn of the 20th century. Pick a
