Kelvin Hall is a historic yet modern sports arena
renowned for its beautiful architecture and first-
rate facilities. Situated in Glasgow’s West End, the
arena serves as a centre for sporting excellence.
Its sports facilities have recently undergone a major
redevelopment programme which places Kelvin Hall
as a world-class sporting hub. An indoor athletics
track lies at the heart of it all, while the climbing wall
serves up vertigo-inducing precipices and challenging
overhangs. An on-site sports injury clinic administers
expert treatment and 50 resistance machines and a
free weights room assist in recovery, recuperation and
strength training. Fitness classes are held all through
the week and a variety of attractive membership
packages are available for Kelvin Hall, tailored for
the needs of serious athletes and casual fitness
enthusiasts, while regular sporting events are held on
the athletics track. In the summertime especially, there
are few pastimes more enjoyable than an evening
inside this beautiful arena, watching the athletes go
through their paces.
Scotland Street School Museum

Scotland Street School Museum is a museum
of school education in Glasgow, Scotland, in the
district of Kingston. It is located in a former school
designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh between
1903 and 1906 for the School Board of Glasgow. The
building is one of Glasgow’s foremost architectural
attractions. With many features built into the
stonework and staircases, there is something to
admire around every corner! Now as a museum, it
tells the story of 100 years of education in Scotland,
from the late 19th century to the late 20th century.
When Scotland Street School first opened on 15
August 1906, it educated the children of families
mainly working in shipbuilding and engineering on
the south side of Glasgow. Find out what school
days were like in the reign of Queen Victoria, during
World War II, and in the 1950s and 60s, in our three
reconstructed classrooms. You can even dress up
as a pupil from the past!
