INVERNESS
CALEDONIAN
THISTLE
Inverness Caledonian Thistle
– or the Jags to their loyal
supporters – is one of the newest
teams in Scottish football.
Currently competing in the
Scottish Premiership, ICT are a
comparatively new club, having
formed as recently as 1994,
the result of a merger between
Caledonian
and
Inverness
Thistle. In that short time, Thistle
have risen through the divisions,
winning the Third, Second and
First Division titles. Having
come to global prominence with
shock victories over Celtic in the
Scottish Cup, both in 2000 and
2003, Inverness upset the odds
by winning the cup at the national
stadium in 2015, beating Falkirk
2-1 in the final. Indeed, the
2014/15 season was a landmark
one for the team. In addition to
cup glory, the squad assured
entry to European competition
for the first time in their history,
courtesy of finishing third-place
in the Premiership. Playing out
of the 7,800 capacity Caledonian
Stadium, Inverness have big
ambitions for the 2015-2016
season. Should you wish to
sample the atmosphere during
an Inverness game, head along
on match-day and nab a ticket.
Alternatively, if you want to roar
the Jags on throughout the
season, adult season tickets
start at less than £300.
