THE CROSS AT
KINGUSSIE
Tweedmill Brae
Ardbroilach Road, PH21 1LB
01540 661166
It’s fair to say that the plaudits
heaped at the door of The Cross
at Kingussie are considerable.
Not only has this excellent
restaurant been awarded two
AA rosettes, but it has appeared
in the 2015 Good Food Guide,
as well as the 2015 Michelin
Guide. Far from resting on
their laurels, the culinary team
here are determined to keep
honing their inventive cuisine.
While the service is friendly
and attentive without being
intrusive, the atmosphere is
relaxed and the food is simply
sublime. Beautifully plated
dishes that score highly for both
flavour and texture are created
using ingredients sourced from
Scotland’s bountiful larder.
Poached native blue lobster,
foie gras ballotine and oven-
roasted quail are just a couple
of examples. In the evening,
diners can opt for a traditional
three-course meal, or a six-
course tasting dinner. There’s
also the option of hand-selected
wines to complement each
course, with an assortment of
reds and whites to choose from.
Indeed, the wine list has been
awarded AA status for its depth
and quality. Fully deserving of
its endless awards, The Cross
at Kingussie represents fine
dining at its most toothsome,
mouth-watering best.
