Life Manchester. Part of the Intu
Trafford Centre, located on Barton
Square, the attraction puts visitors
nose to nose with some truly unique
ocean-dwellers. Spread across
three floors, Sea Life showcases
an amazing underwater world
populated by some of nature’s
most astonishing creatures. Say
hello to Ernie, the magnificent
giant green sea turtle, or watch
clownfish – yes, Nemo and friends
– gracefully move through their
underwater kingdom. There are
even – gulp – several resident
blacktip reef sharks, typically found
in the Indian and Pacific Oceans.
Additionally, Sea Life Manchester
is the home of Europe’s very first
seabed walk. Visitors can plunge
beneath the water’s surface and
explore the huge tanks while
wearing a custom-made breathe-
easy helmet. As hundreds of fish
zoom past, you’ll be close enough
to reach out and touch them. If you

life itself, behind-the-scenes tours
