63 DEGREES
Manchester’s Northern Quarter
is a melting pot of mouth-
watering aromas and flavours.
If French cuisine is your
cuisine, you’ll find your tastes
well catered to at 63 Degrees,
a Parisian-style brasserie that
cooks contemporary French
fare. The High Street restaurant
is all white plates, fine linen and
artful food pairings; this is food
that looks like art and tastes like
heaven. The brasserie takes its
name from the temperature it
cooks its poultry at; it turns out
that 63º is the optimum amount
of heat for slow-cooking a
chicken till it melts in your
mouth. The brainchild of master
chef Eric Moreau, 63 Degrees
promises a dining experience
you’ll be talking about for days.
After a light starter of foie gras
with seasonal chutney, diners
can await a main course of
seared cod or whole lobster
with tarragon butter. The meat
dishes are equally tempting,
be it beef fillet or veal steak
stuffed with olives. To finish, try
an assortment of Bisous Bisous
macarons with coffee. If you
can’t decide which slice of 63
Degrees to sample, why not try
a handful? A five-course tasting
menu, available on Tuesdays,
encapsulates Parisian food at
its finest.
