Yo Sushi is one of the most popular sushi chains
in Scotland, and the premises in Silver Burn
Shopping Centre is a convenient spot to grab
lunch. But don’t worry if you think Yo Sushi only
serves raw fish: everyone is catered for here.
Pick from any one of their 80 inspired dishes,
including sashimi, tempura, and a range of
hot classics. Grab your chopsticks and dig in
to salmon teriyaki, grilled salmon served with
a sweet and sticky soy-based sauce. Prawn
tempura is deep-fried to perfection, and coated
in a crispy yet light Japanese batter. If you fancy
being really indulgent, opt for the mouth-watering
soft shell crab, or if you want to make an evening
of it, tuck into a dessert afterwards. Mochi are
soft rice cakes which come with a variety of
delicious fillings, and Yo Sushi’s own ice cream
comes in wonderful flavours such as green tea
and black sesame.

For modern Japanese cuisine in the heart of the
city, pay a visit to the contemporary styled Nippon
Kitchen. Here you can enjoy food that’s freshly made
to order, using the best ingredients imported from
Japan and top local suppliers. The menu includes
miso soup, gyoza, kushiyaki, sashimi, seaweed,
tempura, takoyaki, ochazuke, katsu curry, noodles,
yakimono, bento boxes and plenty of sushi options.
There are gluten-free and vegan menus, as well
as one-, two- or three-course afternoon specials.
Nippon Kitchen showcases a range of Japanese
beers and sakes and has created a list of unique
Japanese-inspired cocktails. Non-alcoholic options
include traditional green, jasmine and Gen-Mai-Cha
teas. Upstairs there’s a private corner dining room,
suitable for 20, as well as a larger private dining
area for up to 40. These offer stylish decor with
exclusive artworks, and a great deal of flexibility for
