Bo’Vine is a cleverly-named restaurant located
in Glasgow’s bohemian West End. Although the
multiple meanings of their title are too complex
to go into, all the casual diner needs to know is
that this restaurant serves up great meaty dishes
accompanied by some truly remarkable wines.
Like any self-respecting Scottish restaurant,
the emphasis is placed on sourcing fresh local
ingredients. Almost everything on Bo’Vine’s menu
has been produced by Scottish hands, from the
28-day hung beef to the shellfish landed from
Scottish waters. Bo’Vine take all this rich and
tasty fare, throw in some French flair - and wine to
match. The restaurant fills up quickly on weekends,
so diners are advised to phone ahead to avoid
disappointment. With friendly, personal service
and a lively, bustling atmosphere, there’s a lot to
love about Bo’Vine.
UBIQUITOUS CHIP

Ubiquitous Chip is a great name for a great
restaurant. 40 years old, and yet still winning
plaudits and accolades. Inside the Ubiquitous
Chip’s capacious interior, a light and airy dining
experience can be enjoyed. In addition to the
principal open-plan seating area, a newly-opened
mezzanine can be reached via a quaint bridge that
leads over the courtyard. There is also a charming
roof terrace and intimate corner bar. Pleasing as
all this is, it’s the food that counts, and here the
Ubiquitous Chip dazzles. Being voted 2010’s
Scottish Restaurant of the Year by The Good
Food Guide was a pleasant - but not unexpected
- honour for this top-class eatery. Voted for by the
restaurant’s customers, the award is a testament
to the Ubiquitous Chip’s friendly service and truly
superb food. With a number of events lined up this
year to celebrate their 40th anniversary, there’s
never been a better time to visit the Ubiquitous Chip
to see what all the fuss is about.
