Back in 2008, Joe Conetta had the idea of
bringing his favourite corner of Spain to Glasgow.
Not just the food, but the whole experience of a
summer evening meal on your best holiday ever.
Sourcing furnishings from Spain, ornaments and
a lot of mosaic tiling later, Café Andaluz was born.
Quite naturally we have brought together Spanish
communities in each city, and attract great chefs
and waiting staff from all over Spain. The favourite
Café Andaluz of many, it all started with the west
end. Step off the cobbled Cresswell Lane and
feel like you’ve just arrived in a neighbourhood
restaurant in a vibrant Spanish town. Just off
Byres Road and near Hillhead subway. The
Glasgow Central location offers a little Spanish
oasis in the centre of the city. A few steps from
George Square, you don’t need the car to get
here. Queens Street station is around the corner
and Buchanan Street subway a few minutes’ walk.

Elena’s Spanish Bar & Restaurant is one of
Glasgow’s most exciting authentic Northern
Spanish dining venues. Multi-award winning for
our Cuisine & Customer Service, we look forward
to welcoming you to Elena’s where your host,
Elena from Santander, and her team will share
their passion for authentic Spanish food & drink.
Specialising in cuisine from Northern Spain, Elena’s
serves ‘raciones’, which are larger than tapas but
smaller than full portions, so it’s best to order two or
three per person. Santander is famous for seafood
and here we use Scottish catch in the same way.
Scottish beef, pork and lamb we also prepare in
our own way. But other ingredients like our expertly
shaved Iberico ham and tasty chorizo which can
only come from Spain. As do our Chefs! Located a
stone’s throw from Kelvingrove Museum, Elena’s,
radiates warmth and friendliness, with lights draped
in abundance around the restaurant and bar.
