Open 7 days a week, the bright, cosy and
welcoming Primrose Cafe is somewhat of an
institution, having been under the same ownership
for over two decades. On sunny days it’s the ideal
place to soak up some rays over coffee, in the
secluded roof garden, which is open throughout
the summer. The cafe, nestled in trendy Clifton,
serves breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea with
relaxed brunch specials available on Sundays.
Whether you prefer savoury or sweet, there’s
plenty to tempt every taste, from hearty meals
and healthy snacks to decadent homemade
cakes. Almost everything is made to order on
the premises, with seasonal specials on the
blackboard, gluten free and vegetarian options.
Primrose Cafe can adapt many dishes to suit your
diet; just let them know your requirements. The
space can also be hired for events with or without
catering provided and including bar facilities.
COX & BALONEY
182 & 184 Cheltenham Road
Cotham, Bristol, BS6 5RB
0117 9443100
Cox and Baloney began life as a vintage humble
stall. Now eight years on, the brand occupies two
floors on Cheltenham Road, comprising a tea
shop, team room and bar. This isn’t just a venue
for afternoon tea, although they are of course a
house speciality. Dine and drink till 9pm, Thursday
to Saturday and during the day on Sundays. Enjoy
brunch, lunch, tasty cakes - and teapot cocktails
for something that little bit stronger. Feast on
delicious platters and real Cornish clotted cream
teas, sipping from fine bone china. There’s an
evening Pudding and Cocktails Club for those
with a sweet tooth, and a Gin and Cheese Club
offering a range of different pairings and tasters.
Or consider holding a special event at Cox &
Baloney, book a Naked Butler to make your
guests cocktails and host party games - it’ll be an
ice breaker unlike any other.
